In A Mother’s Wait Mom Dad I'm Back movie, fifteen years ago, Elijah Morton was separated from his mother Sabrina Lester at a fair and adopted by General Hale Gibson. After Gibson became the King, he appointed Elijah Duke of South and ordered him to build a palace in his hometown while seeking his parents. Staying at Lord Gideon Quain's estate, Elijah repeatedly missed recognizing Sabrina, who worked there as a servant. When Sabrina's house was seized for palace construction, her nephew Wyatt Morton attempted to force her out. Elijah intervened, confirming their mother-son bond through a keepsake. Wyatt later kidnapped Elijah to curry favor with Gideon, who panicked upon discovering this and freed Elijah by revealing his status. Sabrina and her husband Alfred Morton sought help from Elijah's fiancée Camille Elwood. Camille's stepfamily framed her for theft, leading her father Larry Elwood to sentence her to marry Chester Quain. Elijah rescued Camille and punished the conspirators. At Sabrina's estranged father Paul Lester's 70th birthday, Sabrina presented Elijah's expensive wine in plain packaging. Her jealous sisters denounced it as fake, prompting Paul to disown her. Elijah arrived with officials bearing lavish gifts, exposing the family's hypocrisy. He departed with his parents as Paul regretted his cruelty.
